Mt. Hut of the Future

The ETH Zurich and the Swiss Alpine Club SAC have invited guests on 25 September 2009, to preview the, "Cabin of the Future" located in the Swiss Alps. The New Monte Rosa-SAC is open after the winter break starting in March 2010 for climbers.

Veterans Day Snow Storm, YES!

It is getting cold up here at the NASTC world headquarters and we are preparing for a new system bringing snow and colder temps. Ski season is soon upon us!! I hope I don't jinx it.

Veterans Day: Snow likely, possibly mixed with rain, mainly after 4pm. Snow level 7100 feet. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Breezy, with a south wind between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday Night: Snow, mainly before 4am. Low around 27. Breezy, with a southwest wind 20 to 25 mph decreasing to between 10 and 15 mph. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. West wind around 15 mph
